Marcus SBN is promoted to 2nd Dan Our triple Black Belt test came to a conclusion on Saturday, July 25. The AMK is pleased to announce that we have a new 2nd Dan Black Belt to welcome into our AMK family. Marcus A. Krieter SBN was
promoted
from our 2nd Quarter Test Board on July 18, 2009. Marcus SBN has essentially done a full circle to return to the AMK 15 years after he was promoted to Black Belt along with Lisa SBN, Nila Welker SBN, and Joseph Ok SBN. The four of them were the first 4 Black Belts produced by the AMK on December 14, 1991.
This test was culmination of all of the hard work he has put in since his return. Congratulations Marcus SBN!
Nathan & Elmier Penid were promoted to 4th Kub, Blue belt. Jessica & Collin Lewandowski were promoted to 7th Kub, Yellow/Green belt. Jasmine Adair
was the big surprise on this test board and scored 100% on her written
test. She received a
double promotion to 7th Kub, Yellow/Green belt. Bo Fu, who wrote an outstanding article on the Memorial Day article (can be found on front page of our website), has made vast improvements over the past 3 months, and does his best to fit into the group whenever he meets with the Saturday group, also received a
double promotion to 7th Kub, Yellow/Green belt. Jelani Fulwilder was at our last test, but did not have enough hours to test. He made his return to this test after a two month hiatus and was also surprised to receive a double promotion to 8th Kub, Yellow belt. Kristen Gomez, Ishika Singh, Rashika Singh, and Steven Schuster were all promoted to 9th Kub, White/Yellow belt.
Before
giving out our special awards, Master Amsell talked about each award.
The Top Child, Junior, and Senior award are strictly based on score.
The Most Dedicated award is given to someone who puts in a lot of time
into the class (normally outside of class). The Leadership award is
given to someone who shows a good example and helps lower ranks.
Top Child was Elmier Penid, Top
Junior was Nathan Penid, Top Senior was Marcus A. Krieter SBN, Most
Improved was Bo Fu, Most Dedicated was Jasmine Adair, and
Leadership was Elmier Penid.
A
great test board came to an end, but a lot of hard work is in store for
all who were promoted to learn their new material. We started the new
material on Saturday, but there is a lot more to come.-LSA
