Two years ago, our program was disrupted, and our website became unusable. Over that period, my loyal and dedicated members worked with me to change our program to be more relevant to the more intellectual and philosophical approach to oriental martial art training, while enhancing the technical performance. That is because those members who now participate in the training are more interested in more than just physical exercise or even sport. They want to understand the training as thoughtful, mature adults. Those who are younger also need to be exposed to a broader view of the world of martial arts.
Therefore, I have been working closely with our webmaster, family members, class members, and my most valuable colleagues to create a new website that reflects AMK’s true mission. In addition, it needed to become a source point for technical, cultural, and philosophical dialogue currently found only on my Facebook page or via these status updates. It needs to become a focal point for anyone interested in our mission, our members, and our training. It needed to become a focal point for collaborative sharing among dedicated martial arts as well as those who aspire to understand the oriental martial art vision.
We have now launched the new website at the original location, https://www.americanmoodokwan.com/, accessible to everyone. As time goes on, it will be expanded and regularly updated. As opposed to the original site, it is state-of-the-art, and allows for interaction in a few ways. As I promised two years ago, we will allow for academic training virtually and eventually in person. Just as we did on Sunday, we will be able to return to viewing videos and even movies among our members. For now, just look at it, and let me know how you might like to see it enhanced.
